The Micronesian tuna fishery is located in the national waters of the Federated States of Micronesia. FSM is located North-East of Papua New Guinea and consists of 4 states: Yap, Chuuk, Pohnpei and Kosrae. Together the states are made of 607 islands. While the land area is small, it occupies more than 2,600,000 square miles of the Pacific Ocean.
