Fishing & Living Team building and empowerment meeting

October 2013

This week the fishing & Living team had their annual planning to develop activities for the coming year and some time to touch base on the very busy and productive year gone by. For the future planning we focused on the 4 big topic areas we see as most pressing for the future of Indonesian fisheries; Food quality and safety; Ethical sourcing and social activities; Sustainability and Traceability. Activities, projects and relevant partners for these were discussed as well as finding the most suitable monitoring and evaluation systems for these programs going forward.

The core team currently consists of 10 people with various backgrounds and experience. This team in turn supports the 30 strong team of enumerators and observers in the field throughout our sites in Eastern Indonesia. “We worked hard during this empowerment meeting but we managed to make our future plans in a fun and relaxed way….we’re excited about what 2014 is going to bring and how we can spread the hard work and successes from 2013 to reach even more fishing communities and bring fisheries sustainability to a wider spectrum of people and partners”.
