New Recruit To The Fishing & Living Team

February 2014

Helen Packer

Hi Everyone! Having just graduated from Wageningen University last October, I am very excited to become a part of the Fishing & Living team to improve the sustainability of Tuna fisheries! I obtained a Masters in Marine Resource Management at Wageningen University, during which I did a 5-month internship within the Bali Fishing and Living team. This experience gave me the chance to learn about the challenges of sustainability in Tuna fisheries and how exciting this work can be! I just moved to Irvine in South California and will be working closely with Anova and Bumble Bee as the Scientific and Sustainability coordinator Fishing & Living, with a focus on Fisheries Improvement Programs for longline fleets in the Cook Islands, Fiji, Mauritus and other Pacific Tuna Fisheries. I look forward to work again with the Fishing & Living team and bring Tuna fisheries towards sustainability!
